Bring your children to the festival with you!
Are you thinking how to deal with your children this weekend and at the same time go to the festival? There is nothing to deal, you can come together! Children below 10 have free entrance! We have organised creative children`s corner with the group of experianced volunteers. Children will have the posibility to draw, paint, make a collage, origami and paper flowers, angle for fishes, riddle fairy-tale quiz or compete in different disciplines etc. There will be also possible to borrow puzzle, frisbee, children books, shooting marbles or plasticine. Part of the corner will be adressed to the smallest babies and their parents, again with the planty of toys and place to wrap up. Last week before the festival you can finally find more carribean music in czech radios. First RB special we had on Friday in Reggae Club @ Radio 1 (91.9FM) (big up DJ Kaya!). The next one will be today – on Tuesday from 9 till 11 p.m. Admirál Kolíbal & Reggae Expres @ Expres rádio (90.3FM) . Radio Wave (100,7 FM) is giving us a big support on Wednesday in Dubovy Haj with Josua from 8 to 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 till 9 p.m.with Boldrik & Na druhou. On Thursday there will be at 2 p.m. also exklusive interview with Ward21 on Radio 1 and in the same night form 10 till 11 p.m. will DJ Babylon Rocker give you some more RB music on radio Spin (96,2FM) . Under the section „Info“ you can find the navigation for the car and train connection to the festival ground. Unfortunately, there won`t be any specific festival shuttle traffic, though we would love to provide you more detailed infos on walk from the train station Steblova to the festival area, as you were asking in guestbook. Check the map of the area , it is max 4,5 km of nice walk around the flooded sandpit. Partly you can use the tourist signing or walk between the two sandpits on it`s dam. As a melody for your trip we recommend you following video >>. And some final summing-up – there will be parking and camping in one, so the owners of the trucks can camp right next to their car. Parking will cost 100 CZK per car and camping will be free. Tickets will be available on the entrance and children below 10 will have free entrance. Alongside the big jamaican stars – reggae legend Mykal Rose with his Dubline band and crucial dancehall quartet Ward 21 with fresh toaster princess Tifa and popular orchestra band King Banana from Germany you can jam with some of the best czech groups, tribes and clans …. Here, some infos on the czech scene. Friday program is focused on reggae-ska warm-uping Mr.Rose. You will hear f.e. Prague Ska Conspiracy with it`s energic ska, rocksteady and reggae set. Charismatic and very expressive female lead vocalist with the african roots won`t let you sit down and just relax. Another czech famous band on the line-up is legendary reggae classics Švihadlo. This band`s history begun in deep 80`s and since that they have developed their own specific sound and vibe. On Saturday we can find more urban music and modern reggae styles such as dancehall. Modern czech conscious dancehall and ragga generation represents Mr. Cocoman & Solid Vibes with the impressive vocal and toasing of Mr.Cocoman, full and modern sound of base, keyboard and drumset with the support of DJ Toast. Urban music, hip hop and soul will bring you Navigators , one of the best live soul and r`n`b music you can find in Czech. Besides that we have invited famous and popular hip-hop body Indy&Wich with the support of LA4. This trio representing so called „intelligent hiphop“ has already 10 years history and very wide audience. You shouldn`t miss it! Finally straight before the jamaican troup Ward21 we are looping forward to hear United Flavour `s mix of reggae, dancehall, latino, ska and hiphop served with it`s massive energy and great live show. On festival`s line-up, of course, you can find much more interesting czech bands representing different reggae relating styles of music such as Afrodisiak feat. MC Turner, Tribtown, Nebiba, Zion Squad, Barakaba` etc.
Some practical information
We would like to provide you with the first practical infos that will be completed later with another details. The festival`s ticket will be available, of course, also on the ground – for 550 CZK (appr.22 EUR), oneday ticket you can get for 400 CZK (16 EUR). Camping will be right next to the festival ground and will be for free, for the parking you will have to pay 100 CZK (4 EUR)per car. The map of the site will be available on this website during this week. Into the festival ground is forbidden to bring food, drinks and all kind of guns. We assure you with enough free drinking water and wide range of food and drinks from the different caterings, including vegetarian. The enter of dog is possible only with the dog-lead with no exception and the dog-cage in the owner`s pocket. Check the websites, we will bring you more soon!

At first we have to apologize for long delay of English version of our festival website. During upcoming days we ll add more details about camping etc. Date of the 2nd edition of RealBeat festival will be already from 8th to 9th of August 2008 near Pardubice city (in the center of Czech Republic, from Prague 120km drive to east). Location is called Pískovna Oplatil (flooded sand pit) and it´s same place, where was last year`s Reggae Meeting. It´s a beautiful place with amazing lake and sand beach.. Festival presents many local and international artists from reggae, dancehall, raggajungle or even urban music. There have been several massive warm-ups in capital Prague like the concerts of Gentleman, Max Romeo, Daddy Rings and finally Sizzla Kalonji this May and scored a great success at the czech audience that seems to be grown up for real reggae stars! The main star of the festival Real Beat this year will be legendary Jamaican singer Michael Rose, the most known voice of mighty Black Uhuru, who won in 1985 the first reggae Grammy in history. Between his immortal hits are for instance tracks "Guess Who´s Coming to Dinner", "I Love King Selassie", "Shine Eye Gal", "A Stalk of Sensimilia", and many more. We have to mention also his hit-duet "Waan the Thing" with Alborosie from the last year and mainly his fresh dancehall megahit "Shoot Out", which gave a name to his whole European summer tour. As a saturday´s headliner we will wellcome Jamaican dancehall crew Ward21! Sizzla Kalonji will warm-up Prague 11th of May!
Sizzla Kalonji, one of the most prolific leaders of the conscious reggae dancehall movement, will come for the first time to Czech Republic! He will perform with his band on Sunday 11th of May in Prague, Lucerna Music bar. Sizzla begun his higrade career in the latter half of the 90s, where he helped lead dancehall back to the musical and spiritual influence of roots reggae and heavily Rastafarian subject matter. But alongside he influenced also a lot from dancehall culture and he set up a high cooperation between Jamaica and US hiphop artists. Sizzla have collaborations for instance with Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, Rihanna and many many others.. Check him live and direct in Prague! Daddy Rings will play 2nd of April in Prague
Daddy Rings is one of the most talented Jamaican Reggae artists. Born and raised in Jamaica he developed his Sing-Jay Style while working on his Uncle´s Sound-System. In 1991 he started to carry his talent out to the world. Since then his unique style of performing and his brilliant lyrics are leaving a deep impression on those who hear him. His music is touching the hearts and souls of Reggae- and Music-Fans all over the world. On October the 26th 2007 Daddy Rings has released his new album “The Most High“ on his „African Glory Records“ label. Gentleman´s breddren and mentor will perform in Prague for the first time with House of Riddim band 2nd of April in Club Roxy (www.roxy.cz). Max Romeo will warm-up Prague 27th of February
At first we want to apologize to all english readers, that this part of our website wasn´t uploaded for so long. Finally we have access from webmaster for direct upgrades, so now it will be much better..RealBeat festival will be 8th and 9th of August 2008 but for sure there will be few very interesting warm-ups before! The first one is already 27th of February with legendary Max Romeo and his jamaican Charmax band.
Mr. Romeo made his first hit "Wet Dream" already back in 1968, but even in 21st century he is still strong and fit to educate with his songs and music worldwide. Just remember some of his big tunes, which are already concidered as classics - "One Step Forward", "War in Babylon" or unbeatable hit "Chase the Devil" who was also succesfully remixed by The Prodigy under the name "Out of Space". Max Romeo is still holding the torch of rastafarian truth based on peace, love and freedom. He is still travelling with his band all over the world as one of the higlights of roots reggae music. Last year was released another great album POCOMANIA SONGS produced by Ariwa´s Mad Professor and 2008 begun with another Best Of.. But the real best of is that Max Romeo will be soon in Prague live & direct ! Gentleman coming to Prague
Save the date November 21st, because The famous German reggae and dancehall singer Gentleman comes to Prague, supported by his backing Far East Band. Born in Germany, Gentleman came accross reggae in the early youth and after spending soome time in Jamaica, he decided to dedicate his life to the reggae vibe. Soon he became one of the few artists respected by the Jamaican community as well. His previous Confidence album became instant hit and reached the top of the German Billboard! chart. Gentleman released his last Another Intensity album last August and currently he is touring European cities with most of the shows sold out. For the first time they will perform in the large Lucerna Music hall and it is guaranteed to be one of the biggest reggae events of this year. As his support, Gentleman chose German rising star Martin Jondo, whose Echo & Smoke album was voted the best german reggae album of the year. Slovakian band Polemic closes up the line-up with their last concert in Prague for this year. David House Crew is one of the best reggae bands that ever played in Prague. Support from Kulcha Knox, Sugar, Jah Thunder and Mr. Mention was also really incredible. Warm-Up with Capleton
Warm Up for the festival will take place in Prague on 15th of May with Capleton & David House Crew from Jamaica. Currently one of the Top10 Carribean DJs will perform in Czech Republic for the first time and it will be in Lucerna Music bar, right in the center of Prague. Soundsystem support includes Jamaican singer Mr. Mention with czech selectors Babylon Rocker, Admiral Kolíbal and Waddup? Sound from Slovakia. Plus more singers are invited to represent musical revolution!

RealBeat festival will be the the biggest Czech international reggae & dancehall open-air festival of this summer. It will happen in beautiful area under ancient Točník castle only 35km from Prague. Everbody is welcome to join us at the festival between 22nd - 23rd of June 2007. And now the most interesting part – the lineup: RealBeat will have 3 stages - main live stage, open-air dancehall stage and RealBeat tent. One of the main headliners will be Jamaican superstar Anthony B with his band, YT aka the Best British Deejay of 2006 alongside newschool dancehall star Mr. Peppaman aka Bongo Chilli. Check out also the Carribean connection Big Famili aka King Kalabash & Baron Black, coming from Martinique and based in Paris, they will perform with top german riddim band Feueralarm. We also have to mention German/French band Irie Revoltés, dubwise group Dubioza Kolektiv from Bosna and upcoming Czech reggae latino stars called United Flavour based in Prague. Highly respected East West Rockers will come from Poland and we will welcome Roots Survival from France and many more.
